Summary:
All forms of living matter consist of either pyeararyotic cells (bacteria) or
eukaryotic cells (multicellular organisms). The building materials of cells are polymers:
Enzymes are important proteins. They catalyse biochemical reactions, e.g., the enzyme
protease cleaves polypeptide chains. Carbohydrates and lipids are deposits of energy, while
DNA/RNA are deposits of information (instructions on how to build up proteins).
