TFana is a streamline curvature for simulation of flows through turbines or compressors. The flow is considered as axisymmetric and the solution is obtained in the meridional plane. The effects of blades are included via source terms based on empirical correlations for outlet flow deviation and for total pressure loss.

The code aims to early stages of esign of the turbomachine. Therefore it does not need detailed description of geometry of blades, hub and shroud, see section Input file.

The code supports several empirical models including:

  • constant deviation and loss model
  • generalized Lieblein’s loss model combined with deviation model
  • user defined deviation and loss model

The code supports several thermophysical models including:

  • perfect gas (ideal gas EOS with constant )
  • real gas model (Aungier-Redlich-Kwong EOS, polynomial approximation of )
  • real gas model from CoolProp library (optional, slow)
